Ford Man’s Mustang LLC was formerly Ford Mans Mustang and Automotive, of Houston Texas, opened to the public in 1979 by Ted”FordMan” Ehrhardt.

Ted was born in Freeport Texas and raised near Waco. At an early age, Ted showed an interest in Fords and got involved with them with his parents and his brother George. He started his long professional career with Fords when he helped out his God parents at “Bird-Kultgen” Ford in 1954. From there he traveled to Dallas and worked for several Ford dealerships. Ted finished High school at night and attended college while working at “Horn-Williams Ford“ where he worked with Carroll Shelby in 1965 and 1966. As time went on Ted became more involved with racing and Hi-performance and started building some custom set-ups and show cars.

Soon Ted began to really make a name for himself, when these custom and show cars began receiving many awards. One of his greatest achievements was the 1989- 1990 NHRA season, when the Ford Man’s Mustangs 1989 Super Stock car set an eighth mile track record breaking the 6 second barrier. The driving credit goes to Charlie Ford and his crew for setting other records in the B.M & C.M. classes.

In 2002, Ted’s daughter,Vada Gumbert and her husband Bryant, formed articles of organization for “Ford Man’s Mustang, LLC. They proceeded to acquire the new facility needed, an 8000 sq ft building, with 4 shop bays, a detail bay, two show rooms, parts inventory warehouse, counter and offices, as well as an additional a separate 4000 sq ft body shop. All on 20 acres, perfect for future car shows and swap meets.

Bryant and Vada have been car enthuasits all their lives, with Bryant having his own successful career in IHRA Drag racing the mid to late 80’s with a Pro-Stock car that he built, maintained and drove himself.
